Superstition and people, one of my very interesting topics. May be lot of you, who are more educated or have belief on science or are more towards advanced culture might or might not have seen this.

As I belong from a very small village but lucky enough to travel from place to place along with parents and have a proper education, seen variety of people from my regional state and their superstitions. So, I am going to discuss some of those with you all here.

Ghost stories, which are like starting point as a kid I guess, that everyone tries to tell you some kind of stories around it. And being a kid its lot more times possible that you fell for it.

Then next supersition I came across was - "black cat/cat, if cat crosses the road while you are going somewhere, people used to belive that its a Bad Omen,  then you should wait for some time and then go ahead or cancel your plan"

One I always remember, and can't forget, which is a spread rumour about "Ganesha idol drinking a milk", I am sure some of you might have experienced it.  Before dawn on 21 September 1995, a worshipper at a temple in south New Delhi made an offering of milk to a statue of Ganesha. When a spoonful of milk from the bowl was held up to the trunk of the statue, the liquid appeared to disappear, apparently taken in by the idol. You can read more about it here- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganesha_drinking_milk_miracle

There was basically a scentific reason associated with why ganesha idol was drinking a milk, it was related to a Capillary Action. But being a kid it was so much fun to watch this happening and going to neighbors places to tell them that "ganesh idol is drinking a milk".

One more I came across is about birthmarks, as I have one too on my left hand, people used to say that, I am "Lucky" or I am "Re-born" into same family and so on. But scientifically, these birthmarks form when skin cells produce an excess of melanin, which is the body's natural pigment and give some kind of patch when baby is born.

Afterwards I have seen many superstitions, some around specific diseases like Tuberculosis or some around Astrology or Horoscope and so on.

The only thing, I have learnt is that, its important to give more importance to science, education and life energies. Every person has so much inner strength and energy within themselves. Sometimes its ok, if you can't have faith on life energies, you can have faith in other things. but its upto you how much you want to fall for it as "Superstition" is nothing but excessively credulous belief in and reverence for supernatural beings. So I would say, its better to have a belief in yourself and life energies more. Rest I will leave it upto your choice.

I would love to hear any other superstitions you came across. Please do post me, if you have any story to tell. As I am learning from your inputs as well.

Until we meet, Happy Leading and Let's Lead Together. Stay safe. Bye for now.
